THE ALGARVE - EUROPE'S WILD WEST
Outdoor mecca at the most beautiful end of the world
In earlier times, the southwest of the Algarve was called the end of the world. From here the endless sea began. For many years, this “most beautiful end of the world” has been a popular travel destination for surfers, outdoor athletes, nature lovers and sun seekers. And of course not without reason.

AL-GARB
The Algarve was historically shaped by the Moors. In the 8th century they invaded from North Africa, called the region Al-Garb, the West, and, in addition to cuisine, art and culture, gave it beautiful garden landscapes and fascinating architecture. 500 years later, the Portuguese Christians reconquered the region, but the charm of Moorish rule can still be felt in many places today.
ALGARVE CLIMATE
With over 3,000 hours of sunshine per year, the Algarve is one of the sunniest regions in Europe. The southwest of the Algarve is surrounded by the sea on two sides, resulting in a very balanced climate all year round. The winters are mild and the summers are dry, but almost never too hot as there is always a pleasant sea breeze.
